Wildflower Wood - Glamping in Cornwall

Wildflower wood - Glamping in Cornwall at Beersheba Farm located in St Ives Cornwall offers glamping in landpods in a beautiful woodland setting with sea views.

Please note the glamping site is open Mid April - End of September each year.

We visited mid May 2023, during Bluebell season, and the woodland was a carpet of green and purple, I highly recommend booking your stay during this period just to see the Bluebells.

There are 5 landpods on the site, each with their own separate bathrooms (so you are only sharing a bathroom with the people you are staying with) and a washing up area with a fridge and shelves for each landpod.

The landpods are great for couples, families, and friendship groups and the site is available for exclusive hire.

They sleep 4-5 people, they are dog friendly, and each Landpod has its own cooking, dining and firepit area. Each unit has off-grid LED lighting and USB charging points (for small mobile devices only) you can ask these to be recharged during your stay, but I also would recommend taking your own power banks and don't forget a torch or headtorch.

With insulated roofs, carpet and astroturf flooring, a wooden frame, sealed windows and warm panelling the Landpods are warm, weatherproof and cosy, there is no heating in the Landpods, which means the site is only open from early spring until the end of September.

Also to note, bedding is available to hire or you can take your own, and the bedroom situation is two double bunkbeds and then the pods that sleep 5 the sofa can become a bed.

We found the beds super comfortable and the pods were warm over night.

Do make sure you pack warm clothing and coats for the evening sitting around the fire (we wore our changing robes), as the kitchen is outside but under cover, we especially enjoyed using the firepit as a BBQ and sitting outside well into the evening.

And don't forget your waterproofs as it is England after all.

Other Accommodation:

If you aren't into Glamping or you are looking for a stay in Cornwall in Autumn, winter and early spring, then Beersheba Farm also has two self catering properties available to book.

Brea Cottage sleeps up to 6 people and The Studio sleeps 2.

Things to do in the area:

Wildflower wood is only

  • 10 minute drive into St Ives

  • 5 minute drive to Carbis Bay

  • 20 Minute drive to Hayle Beach

  • 20 minute drive to Penzance

We decided to not drive anywhere once we arrived and we walked into Carbis Bay and St Ives, which took us about 1hr20 minute walk into the centre of St Ives, we used Komoot to plot our route, which I find really easy to follow and it was a lovely walk through woodland and coastal trails.

The nearest place for food is Una St Ives Resort, their facilities including their restaurant is open to non residents, this was a 12 minute walk from the Wildflower Wood and we ate here on the first night.

There is so much to do in the area from Surfing, coastal walks, sea swimming, kayaking, Paddle boarding and so much more. We booked a 2 hour beginners Surf session with St Ives Surf School on Porthmeor Beach, the instructors were fantastic and we all had an amazing experience, this was my second time booking with St Ives Surf School and I would book with them again.

There are so many great shops from high street chains to independent stores (my personal favourite) and loads of great cafes, restaurants and takeaways to choose from to eat, I mean if you are by the seaside you have to have fish and chips, but watch out for the seagulls as they will steal your food and please do not feed them.

While we were there the St Ives Food and Drink Festival was on and it was fantastic, great food and drink vendors, alongside pop up shops and live music. This festival is usually Mid May.

I will write more about what we got up to and what you can do in St Ives and Carbis Bay in another blog, so stay tuned.
